Detergents, fertilizers and nitrogen compounds are the two groups that account for the largest proportion in the structure of production and consumption of the chemical industry.

One of the biggest weaknesses of Vietnam’s chemical industry is the weak ability to supply raw materials, so most of the input materials for the chemical industry have to be imported. The technical machinery system of the chemical industry is mostly at an average level compared to some countries in the region, so the productivity of the industry is not high and the value added is still low.

Some industries have achieved saturation levels such as fertilizers, pesticides, paints, and detergents. However, there are still many industries that still have high growth potential such as primary plastic resins and synthetic rubber, man-made fibers, Basic chemicals.
