Rubber trees are grown mainly in Southeast Asia, Africa and a small part of the Americas. Thailand, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Vietnam are 5 countries having the largest cultivated area in the world. In 2017, natural rubber consumption in the world has continued to grow since the end of 2016. In the past few years, China and India have always been the two largest natural rubber consumers in the world. After rising to record prices in Q1/2017, rubber prices continued to decline sharply in the Singapore market but slightly increased in the European market. According to the Report of the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), Vietnam has been the leading rubber producing country in Asia since 2013. The main products of Vietnam’s rubber industry are natural rubber, and most of the exploited output is used for export, the volume of natural rubber consumed domestically is low. Natural rubber in Vietnam is mainly used for the production of tires, gloves, pillow cushions, etc. Currently, Vietnam is ranked third in export of rubber in the world. The price of rubber raw materials in the country decreased in March 2018 along with the trend of the world rubber market.
