VIETNAM NATURAL RUBBER INDUSTRY

Rubber trees are grown mainly in Southeast Asia, Africa and a small part of the Americas. Thailand, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Vietnam are 5 countries having the largest cultivated area in the world.
In the first 9 months of 2018, the rubber output increased by 1.2% compared to the same period last year.

The main products of Vietnam rubber industry are natural rubber, and most of the exploited output is used for exporting. The volume of natural rubber consumed domestically accounts only 20% of total natural rubber output in the country. In the first 9 months of 2018, the total natural rubber export volume reached 1.450 millions dollars. The total natural rubber imports reached 799 millions dollars. The average of rubber exports price decreased by 18.6% compared to the average price in 2017. Domestic rubber prices recorded a slight decrease according to the trend of the world market.
