VIETNAM NATURAL RUBBER INDUSTRY

Currently, Vietnam is the third country to export rubber in the world, after Thailand and Indonesia. In the first 6 months of 2018, the total natural rubber export volume reached xxx.xx thousand tons, valued at 820.6 million USD. Compared to the same period in 2017, exports of natural rubber in the first half of 2018 increased 17.1% in output but decreased 8.1% in value.

China continues to be the largest export market of Vietnam with xxx thousand tons and the value of xxx million USD, accounting for 64.5% total export of natural rubber. Despite being the third largest exporter of rubber in the world, Vietnam still imports a large quantity of rubber raw materials due to poor quality of processed rubber. The domestic market continues to increase, abundant sources of goods.

In the first six months of 2018, natural rubber imports of Vietnam reached 290 thousand tons, valued at $ xxx million. Compared to the same period in 2017, rubber imports increased 18.8% in volume and decreased 1.4% in value. Domestic rubber prices recorded slight declines following the trend of the world market. By the end of 6/2018, SVR 3L price reached 39,915 VND/kg, SVR 10L reached 30,942 VND/kg.

Enterprises operating in the rubber industry of Vietnam are divided into two groups: group of rubber growing and processing enterprises and group of manufacturing rubber products enterprises.
